The resort of Taba is in the north east of the Sinai next to the Egypt-Israel
border. The Israeli resort of Eilat is located across the border. The
town has grown up around the border crossing and will be enhanced as the
new tourist development at Taba Heights gathers momentum. Taba Heights
is a picturesque resort located in one of the most beautiful parts of
the Sinai with a backdrop of breathtaking mountains, wild desert and an
inviting sea.
Getting There & Around
As a former Bedouin village, there isn’t really much in the way of a
transport infrastructure. The airport has recently been upgraded and
charter flights from the UK and other European countries provide direct
connections for holiday makers. The airport is located on the Sinai
plateau some 20 miles from Taba. Taba is also the only land border
crossing for tourists want to move between Egypt
and Israel by car and on
foot. The Israeli resort of Eilat
lies on the other side of the border.
Weather
Although Taba is the northern of the Red Sea resorts, it still offers
good year round weather with July and August being the hottest months.
