Introduction to the Dead Sea (Israel)

The Dead Sea is located in the Jordan Rift Valley with Israel on its Western Banks and Jordan to the East. At 400m below sea level, the Dead Sea is the lowest point on earth and as there is nowhere else for the water to flow, the waters of the Dead Sea have the highest salinity in the world. The area is renowned for being rich in minerals and the Dead Sea is known as “natures own health farm”. For centuries, people have travelled here to relax and recharge their batteries at one of the 5* spa resorts.

Getting There & Around

Package holidays to the Dead Sea in Israel are via the southern resort of Eilat and transfers from here take around 1 hour 45 minutes. If your holiday is part of a multi-centre trip, it may be that you are traveling from Tel Aviv and from there, the transfer time is 2 hours 30 minutes. Once you have arrived at your spa resort, there is little need to go anywhere except between the various facilities at the resort.
