Getting There & Around
Cairo International Airport has flight connections to both domestic
destinations and the rest of the world. The airport is located about 12
miles to the north east of the city. Once you are in Cairo, there is an
extensive transport system that allows you to get around by bus,
minibus, tram, river bus and metro. Cairo is the centre of almost the
entire Egyptian transport network.
Weather
The hot desert climate of Cairo also experiences high humidity due to
the effects of the River Nile. In March and April, wind storms
(Khamseen) can bring Saharan dust into the city. Rainfall is sparse but
sudden showers can cause harsh flooding. The average daily temperatures
