2010 Prices from £1,895 per person This tour of Jordan offers an opportunity to experience the wilder side of the country, ideal for second time visitors or those looking to explore further off the beaten track. The itinerary focuses on Jordan’s natural beauty and includes visits to:
- Ajloun Reserve (optional) Itinerary Day 1 To Amman: Fly from London to Amman with Royal Jordanian Airlines. Transfer to the Kempinski Hotel 3 nights Day 2 Jerash: Morning visit to the Roman site of Jerash. Optional afternoon visit to Ajloun Reserve (Please advise at time of booking – supplement applies). (B) Day 3 Amman: Morning walking tour of Amman(B) Day 4 To Dana: Morning drive to Dana via Madaba, home to a Byzantine map of the region and Mount Nebo from where Moses first viewed the Holy Land. Afternoon at leisure to enjoy a walk in Dana Nature Reserve. Stay at Dana Guesthouse for 1 night (B) Day 5 To Fenyan: Full day 15km hike along Wadi Dana trail to Fenyan. Stay at the Fenyan Eco Lodge for 1 night (B, L, D) Day 6 To Petra: Morning drive to Petra. Stay at the Crowne Plaza for 2 nights. Afternoon at leisure (B) Day 7 Jordan: Today there will be a guided tour of Petra, the ‘rose-red’ city rediscovered by J.L.Burckhardt in 1812 (B) Day 8 To Amman: Morning at leisure. Afternoon drive to Amman and stay overnight at the Kempinski Hotel. Alternatively, leave Petra in the morning and visit the Dead Sea en route to Amman (supplement applies, please advise at the time of booking) (B) Day 9 To London: Morning transfer to the airport. Fly to Amman to London with Royal Jordanian Airlines (B) B – Breakfast, L – Lunch, D - Dinner Discover Tour: This tour should be considered adventurous and involves walking over rough terrain with some steep ascents and descents. A good level of fitness is required. Accommodation in Dana Nature Reserve should be considered basic. Feynan Eco Lodge does not have electricity and at night is lit entirely by candlelight. Note: This tour involves walking over rough terrain. At Petra, visiting the Monastery and High Place of Sacrifice requires a steep climb.
