Egypt is in the north east corner of Africa where the continent meets
Asia. It has coastlines to the North (Mediterranean Sea) and to the East
(Red Sea). To the south is Sudan and to the west lies Libya. Israel lies
to the east of the Sinai peninsula which is separated from the rest of
Egypt by the he Suez Canal. From it’s source deep in central Africa, the
Rive Nile runs north from Sudan into Lake Nasser in southern Egypt. From
there it continues past Aswan and Luxor towards Cairo. Here it passes
near the Pyramids of Giza before spilling into the Mediterranean Sea.
The climate in Egypt means that it is an all year round destination. The
hottest month is August where temperatures can rise above 40 degrees and
the coolest month is February.
Language
The main language of Egypt is Arabic but English is all you need to know
as a tourist.
However, it’s always nice to use a few words and phrases.
Why not give these a try:

Visas
Tourist visas for British citizens can be bought on arrival at your
point of entry or if you prefer you can apply to the Egyptian embassy
before you leave.
Full details and requirements can be discussed when you make your travel
enquiry
Money
The local currency is the Egyptian pound and the exchange rate against
Sterling is generally around £1 = 10LE. In the resorts such as Sharm el
Sheikh and Hurghada, cash machines and banks (including HSBC) are
plentiful so there is no real need to order too much currency before you
go. If you prefer to take travellers cheques, these can be exchanged at
the banks
Religion
Egypt is predominantly a Muslim country although part of the population
is Christian and in general Egypt is lot more liberal than other Arab
countries.
However, please remember you are a visitor and you should respect the
local customs and traditions
